Crocodiles can have extra growth cycles in a year: Why this matters for estimating the age of dinosaurs

Our work in our paleobiology laboratory at the University of Cape Town has shown that juvenile (wild and captive) caimans, American reptiles related to crocodiles and alligators, under one year of age showed growth marks in their bones.
