Dear Influencers: Don’t Disturb Amphibians and Reptiles for More Followers

The balance between the educational benefits and conservation risks of wildlife-related social media activity remains poorly understood, and further research is needed to assess its consequences for vulnerable populations and to develop evidence-based communication guidelines. The popularity of an image can never justify harm to wildlife. Photographers, naturalists, and influencers share the responsibility of portraying nature without putting it at risk.
