Louisiana Congressman seeks to limit turtle-excluder devices on some shrimp trawls

STRP’s Gulf Director Carole Allen was quoted in by the New Orleans Time Picayune newspaper reported in a widely circulated blog story on the anti-sea turtle rider recently passed by Louisiana Rep. Jeffrey Landry. It is the first shot over the bow by Louisiana to block new shrimp regulations to require Turtle Excluder Devices in shrimp nets used by boats that operate primarily in shallow waters.  Leer más.
