The species seems to be extinct, or considered to be on the brink of extinction, in 60% of the sites monitored since the 2000s. The increase in wild boar abundance appears to be the main cause of this decline, which affects both protected and unprotected sites. Leer más.

In this study we compile data regarding lizard densities of the island populations of the Ibiza wall lizard, Podarcis
pityusensis, which can serve as a baseline for future research and control of the invasive snakes, and in particular the
