We’ve been tracking a subset of the painted turtles at Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo all summer. Now that the season is drawing to a close, I’d like to show you two examples of what the data look like from this project. As anyone who’s ever seen film footage of newly hatched leatherback turtles can attest, it’s hard to imaging the journey in store for these clumsy little creatures: as adults, they’ll complete numerous roundtrip treks between West Africa and the east coast of South America–over 10,000 miles of swimming. Hasta 1959, los sapos de espuelas marroquíes se consideraron pertenencientes a la especie Pelobates cultripes (Cuvier, 1829).
