Our results revealed an intriguing biogeographical pattern which could be the result of at least two different colonization waves. Particularly, we identified a new ancient insular clade from Giglio and Capraia islands which surely deserves conservation efforts and further taxonomic investigation. Leer más.

A new species of Tropidophis is described from the dry forest of the Barahona Peninsula, southwestern Dominican Republic, on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola.
