El Grupo de Trabajo para la Protección, Conservación y Restauración de las Lagunas de Ambroz ha llevado a cabo un gran estudio de biodiversidad (Los ecosistemas de Las Lagunas de Ambroz y su entorno) gracias a la ciencia ciudadana.
1080 especies de invertebrados; 156 de aves; 13 de mamíferos; 449 taxones de flora; 11 especies de herpetofauna; y 55 de hongos, es el “dibujo” de este espacio amenazado para el que se solicita protección.

Many anuran species remain to be formally named and described in Amazonia, notably in the Guiana Shield, and particularly in megadiverse groups such as Pristimantis. Several species in the Guiana Shield region have been confused with Pristimantis marmoratus and P. ockendeni.
