The taxonomic status of the São Tomé and Príncipe islands ‘Cobras Jitas’, genus Boaedon, has been a subject of confusion. Historically, these island populations have been referred to as part of either the Boaedon fuliginosus species complex or Boaedon capensis species complex, two of the most taxonomically challenging groups of African snakes, or considered a distinct taxonomic entity, B. bedriagae. El presente documento revisa la situación y aporta nuevos datos para las tortugas marinas en España durante el periodo 2013-2018. Se revisa el estado de conservación para el periodo 2013-2018 en cada una de las demarcaciones marítimas españolas: Levante –Baleares y Estrecho-Alborán para el Mediterráneo, y Noratlántica, Sudatlántica y Macaronesia en aguas del océano Atlántico. Se incluyen análisis de tendencias, las presiones y amenazas que afectan a cada especie y bibliografía actualizada. Para Caretta caretta, se recopila la información de los nidos en las costas mediterráneas españolas desde 2013 hasta 2018 y los movimientos de juveniles nacidos en España, tras su liberación. A new large (94–107mm SVL) species of gecko of the genus Hemidactylus is described from the drier parts of the Western Ghats of India. The new species is closely related to H. graniticolus, from which it can be distinguished based on dorsal pholidosis at mid-body, the structure of tubercles on the dorsum, dorsal pholidosis on the tail. The new species is also 6.6–7.2% divergent from H. graniticolus in the ND2 mitochondrial gene. Leer más.
We describe through integrative taxonomy a new species of snouted treefrog of the genus Scinax from white-sand forests of the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve in Central Amazonia, Brazil. The new species is phylogenetically related to other Scinax with striped eyes and pulsed advertisement calls. Leer más.
