Plastic ingestion by freshwater turtles: a review and call to action

We present one of the few existing datasets on plastic ingestion frequency in wild turtles. This dataset involves a non-native population of the Red-eared Slider, Trachemys scripta elegans, in California, USA, which serves as a proxy for the potential threat of plastic ingestion faced by the sympatric Northwestern Pond Turtle, Emys marmorata (= Actinemys marmorata of some authors), which is declining range-wide. Leer más.
