L’Institut Català de Paleontologia (ICP) ha iniciat aquest dilluns la campanya d’excavacions a les comarques de Lleida i ho ha fet a Coll de Nargó (Alt Urgell) on s’ha trobat un esquelet d’un petit vertebrat. El cap del departament de recerca del Mesozoic i del departament de Faunes del Neogen i Quaternari de l’ICP, Àngel Galobart, ha explicat que si es confirma que les restes són d’un embrió de dinosaure, serien les primeres trobades a Europa. While glaciations constituted the major recent paleoclimatic event, inducing multiple oscillations on species’ ranges, future and rapid shifts are expected if global warming predictions are confirmed. Investigating the whole temporal spectrum of range shifts is of conservation importance since species suffering contractions during the interglacial periods may continue contracting in a warming scenario; lizards provide excellent models for such analysis. My curiosity was aroused by the publicity on the 2013 Bornean Frog Race organised by the Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation of Unimas and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation at Kubah National Park on April 27, in celebration of Save the Frogs Day.
