The Fonoteca Neotropical «Jacques Vielliard» (FNJV) is a collection of archives and vocalizations of animals, mainly from Neotropical region. This is one of the 10 biggest sound collections in the world, having recordings of all vertebrates groups (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) and some groups of invertebrates (as insects and arachnids). Este proyecto que comenzará el 1 de septiembre tomará el relevo de los esfuerzos que Gesplan y el Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria estaban realizando hasta ahora para paliar esta invasión. “Help Stop the Massacre of Baby Sea Turtles” states the announcement of an emergency protest planned by activists who are trying to protect sea turtles from being drawn inland to their deaths by artificial lights. By instinct the turtles crawl toward the brightest light, which until the past 100 years or so was the reflection of moonlight on the ocean but today draws many of them toward the hotels, condos and restaurants along the beach.
