The snake that holds the popular title of «world’s most venomous» is the inland taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus), an inhabitant of Australia’s arid interior. Astonishingly, a single bite from an inland taipan is capable of delivering enough venom to kill 250,000 lab mice. Leer más.

It is that time of the year again in Holland …winter has ended and all the amphibians are anxious to start their annual spring migration. Spring arrived quite soon after a very mild winter. We observed active amphibians throughout fall and winter. However, most of the animals snoozed most of winter and are active only since of few weeks. – Leer más.
Four species of endemic Leptobrachium are known from Borneo, two lowland species L. kanowitense and L. abbotti, a montane species L. montanum, and a highland species L. gunungense. Of these, both L. montanum and L. abotti were found to contain several cryptic species by recent molecular studies. Leer más.
