Hace tiempo que deseaba visitar el centro de recuperación de especies del Saler y, más concretamente, la piscifactoría dada mi devoción hacia el gallipato. A finales de marzo, varios miembros de la Asociación Herpetológica Granadina visitamos la sierra del Calar, en Güéjar-Sierra (Granada), al pie de Sierra Nevada. Un vecino nos había informado de la existencia de una pequeña charca artificial que tenía peces introducidos, y había convencido al dueño para que fueran retirados y así favorecer la presencia de anfibios. We describe a new species of small terrestrial gecko in the genus Diplodactylus from inland regions of western Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. Diplodactylus ameyi sp. nov. can be distinguished from its congeners in the Diplodactylus conspicillatus species-group by its relatively large size, bulbous tail which lacks an acute attenuated extension at tip, small first labial scale and comparatively robust head morphology (which includes a broadly rounded snout and no well-defined canthus rostralis).
